The idea behind Proznitz was to create a fully self contained compact layout, that would fit in my living room. Eventually I settled for a size of about 120 cm by 30 cm (approx. 4 x 1 ft), including a micro fiddle yard.
I was looking for a scene set in (former) Eastern Europe with the possibility of running both passenger and freight trains. On this website I found a massive amount of extremely inspirational pictures of (D)DR Altmark sadness and shabbiness. Without wanting to build anything specific, this was the atmosphere I was going for.
